# Telegram Trading

Trade Hyperliquid privately from Telegram with the HyperLink bot: place orders, get fill alerts, and query your account through a limited agent wallet.

Link the [@hyperlink\_xyz\_bot](https://t.me/hyperlink_xyz_bot) Telegram bot to your HyperLink account to place trades, get fill notifications, and run queries from chat, without ever giving the bot withdrawal access.

The bot trades through an **agent wallet**: a delegated key with limited permissions (the same agent concept as [API keys](/api/api-keys.md)). Approve it as `readOnly` to disable trading while keeping queries and notifications. Your orders route into Hyperliquid from inside the enclave, so your balances, positions, and orders stay private.

## What the bot can and cannot do

| The bot can | The bot cannot |
| ---------------------------------------- | --------------------------- |
| Place and cancel orders | Withdraw funds |
| Query balances, positions, orders, fills | Approve other agents |
| Send you trade and account notifications | Move funds off your account |

{% hint style="warning" %}
Withdrawals always require a signature from your master account. No agent, including the bot, can move your funds. If anyone asks you to authorize a withdrawal "through the bot," it is a scam.
{% endhint %}

## Before you start

* A HyperLink account with a connected wallet at [app.hyperlink.xyz](https://app.hyperlink.xyz). New here? See [Getting Started](/start/getting-started.md).
* A Telegram account with [@hyperlink\_xyz\_bot](https://t.me/hyperlink_xyz_bot).
* An EVM wallet ready to sign. Approving the bot is a gasless EIP-712 signature, not an on-chain transaction.

## Link the bot

Complete these in one session; the link code is single-use and expires shortly.

1. In the web app, open the wallet menu and click **Link to Telegram**.
2. The app creates an agent wallet for the bot.
3. Your wallet prompts an **EIP-712 signature** to approve the agent. This is gasless, not an on-chain transaction. Review and sign.
4. The app shows a one-time link code (and usually a deep link into the bot).
5. Open [@hyperlink\_xyz\_bot](https://t.me/hyperlink_xyz_bot), send the code (or follow the deep link), and confirm. The bot binds to your account.

Up to 5 named and 1 unnamed agent per account. If you revoke the agent, re-link from **Link to Telegram** in the wallet menu. See [Authentication & Keys](/api/api-keys.md) for the agent model.

## Revoke the link

Do both steps so the bot is fully disconnected:

1. **Web app:** Open the wallet menu, select **Manage** under **Trading Agent**, and click the trash icon for the Telegram agent. The bot can no longer trade or query.
2. **Telegram:** send `/accounts` to [@hyperlink\_xyz\_bot](https://t.me/hyperlink_xyz_bot) and delete the linked account to clear the binding.

## Troubleshooting

| Problem                    | Fix                                                                                           |
| -------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Link code rejected | It is single-use and short-lived. Start a new **Link to Telegram** flow from the wallet menu. |
| Approval signature fails | Confirm you are signing with your master-account wallet, then sign again. |
| Bot stopped placing orders | Re-link from **Link to Telegram** in the wallet menu. |
| Agent limit reached | You have the max agents (5 named + 1 unnamed). Revoke an unused one, then re-link. |

## Next steps

* [Trading](/trade/trading.md): place orders and track your account.
* [Deposits & Withdrawals](/trade/deposits.md): fund or move funds.
* [Authentication & Keys](/api/api-keys.md): the agent model, for programmatic access.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.hyperlink.xyz/trade/telegram.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
